Welcome to our Website
This experiment in linking the past with the present began as a passion to understand ourselves better by understanding what has gone before. Now each of you can make your own connections to people we have discovered who fascinate, make you proud, or simply bring a smile to your face. You might have direct lineage to Ferdinand and Borgia Hayden or you may be an “allied” family member. The possibilities grow with each marriage and relationship.
The stories we have found will take time to share but we hope you find them worth the wait. What you see here is only a beginning. We invite you to search your own trees and share as much with us because we want this website to grow. Your stories are as much our future as our past.
The Website
We have broken our stories down into timelines beginning with some of our earliest ancestors to reach these shores. Our hope is that our shared history will deepen self-awareness and enrich our connections. We have done as much with each of our own “allied” families. We have traced direct lineage and allied families for Ferdinand’s parents—Edward Gustav Hayden and Mary Ursula Smith; Mary Borgia’s parents—John Edwin Higdon and Josephine Catherine Roby; and as an example of possibilities, Robert Wheeler’s parents—Vincent George Wheeler and Anna Rose Faith. But we are certainly not finished. Searching just those can take many more years to complete.

Our family’s roots begin deep into the founding of this country. But the past is only the beginning. We invite you to join us in researching your own stories. Our wish for this website is to be a living, breathing thing. If anyone is interested we can arrange sessions to help you get started.
